     They don't seem to be together in 1870, was there a divorce? Samuel is enumerated with his brother Isaac, Abigail seems to be living in Newark.9,10
     The other Rikers are living in Acquackanonck Township in 1855: Thomas Riker (#228: 1 male, 1 female, 1 foreign born female), and
James A. Riker (#426: 3 males, 3 females, 1 male and 2 females 5-16.)11,12

1865 New Jersey census: Household of Samuel Riker, North Ward, Paterson. Household consists of Samuel, his wife Abby and his prob. children Samuel and Cora (5-16 y.o), prob. Bella and James (although they are listed as adults), John Hubbs (his stepson, age 5-16), and an Isaac Riker (listed as an adult.)15

21 Jan 1837.
Samuel Riker petitioned the court to establish boundaries for the division of the land, that he and his brothers Isaac Riker and Henry Riker have inherited from their father Isaac Riker. Henry has died since the death of their father, and Isaac is still a minor. The court appointed as commissioners Abraham Ryerson and Henry R. Van Ness. The final division was made on 21 Jan 1837. John Riker, guardian of Isaac Riker agrees to the petition.2
