Baerent ten Bruggencate was born in 1731 in Heerlijkheid Almelo.1,2,5 He (1) married (NH) Jenneken ten Bruggencate, daughter of Benjamin ten Bruggencate and Janna ter Brake, on 19 May 1755 in Almelo1 (banns 19 Apr 1755, Almelo).1 He (2) married Fenna Kramer6,7 (banns (NH) 1 Feb 1777, Almelo, and in Ulsen on 01 Feb 1777. They went with certificate to Ulsen).6,7 He died on 1 May 1809 in Stad Almelo. Fenna Kramer registered the death.2

Baerent ten Bruggencate and Jenneken ten Bruggencate made a will on 13 Oct 1772.
They wish a proper funeral, and name each other as sole heir. Testator names his parents Isaak ten Bruggencate and Aaltjen ten Getkate, if they survive him, in their legal portion. He leaves to the sons of both his sisters, namely Maria ten Bruggencate and Jenneken ten Bruggencate his linnen and woollen clothes. If his parents predecease him, and his wife remarries, his then living heirs will get 800 Car. gld. Testatrix leaves her clothes to the daughters of her brothers and sisters. She leaves to her sister Geertruijd ten Bruggenkate, married to Jan Troost, or if she predeceases her, her legal heirs 100 Car. gld. If her husband would remarry, he will have to pay her still living heirs 700 Car. gld.3

Baerent ten Bruggencate, Klaas Troost, Jacobus Monnik and Roelof Paasschen, shoemakers in Almelo complain about the son of the master shoemaker Egbert Warnink of Borne. He had entered Almelo with a pair of new shoes, seemingly to sell them, which according to guild rules was prohibited.9

Piternella Wolters, the widow of Lambert ten Bruggenkate, with Gerrit ter Braake as guardian, conveys a parcel land in the Bartels gaarden to Baerent ten Bruggencate Izakszn and his wife Jenneken ten Bruggencate. (The sales contract was signed on 9 Jan 1767).12

Berent ten Bruggencate Izaakszn and his wife Jenneken ten Bruggencate convey to Berent ten Bruggencate and Jenneken ten Bruggencate, his wife, their half of four pieces of land in the Aakamp, and also their half of a piece of land, situated near the land of Gerrit ten Braake,the other half of which already belongs to the buyer.14

Baerent ten Bruggencate and his wife Jenneken ten Bruggencate convey to Dr. Hendrik van Heilbron, his wife Geesken Warners, and their heirs, their garden, situated at the so called Bartels gaarden between the garden of Johannes Revius on the one, and that of Claes Troost on the other side, for a sale price of three hundred and eighty-three guilders and sixteen stuijver, (383 gl 16 Stv).15
