     Hendrik Jan Bruins was from in Almelo at his marriage.1,3 He married (NH) Theodora Princen, daughter of Lucas Wilmsen Prinssen and Annetjen Dirksen Roelfs, on 17 Jan 1723 in Almelo1 (banns (NH) 27 Dec 1722, Almelo.)1,3 He died bet 1 Feb 1748 - 8 Aug 1748, because he was living at Catharina's marriage, but his wife was a widow in a contract, and in the census.5,6,7

Hendrik Jan Bruins was bet 1734 - 1745 a council member of Stad Almelo (He had been elected in 1726, but was to young to accept.)8,3,4 He was mentioned in the will of Theodorus Bruins and Geertruid Schuitemaker on 3 Aug 1720.2 He was appointed in 1734 as guardian over the minor children of Henricus Bolk and Frederica Princen.9

Jan Bruggink, and his wife Henrica Bolk, alsmede Hendrik Jan Bruins for himself, and with aforementioned Jan Bruggink as guardians of the minor children of Henricus Bolk and his wife Frederica Princen, together heirs of the late Anna Bolk, wife of Otto Mullerus conveyed to G. H. Cluwer, and his heirs, their half house and yard, located near the middle bridge9
Hendrik Jan Bruins is guardian over the minor children of Frederica Princen and Henricus Bolk, and is the husband of Frederica's cousin. But it is unclear why he represents also himself as an heir of Henricus' sister.

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 21 Jan 1738:
Jan Berentsen Bolk, and his wife Fenneken Schuitemaker took out a mortgage with Hendrik Jan Bruins, and his wife Theodora Princen and heirs, with as collateral their house, garden and yard, between the house of Gerrit Bolk and that of Jan Rompelman.10

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 8 Oct 1742:
Hendrijna Lucas, widow of Cornelis Trovest, for herself and as mother and guardian over her minor children Jan Trovest and Klaas Trovest, with her guardian Jan Bakker, and also Harmen ten Bruggencate and his wife Aletta Trovest, took out a mortgage with Anna Roelofs, widow of Lucas Prinsen, and Hendrik Jan Bruins and his wife Theodora Princen, and their heirs, with as collateral their house and yard, in which she and her heirs are living.11
