Theodorus Bruins and Geertruid Schuitemaker made a will on 3 Aug 1720.
They name each other as heirs. After their death, their sole heirs are their children namely Hendrik Jan Bruins, Riekien Bruins, Jacobus Bruins, Rudolphina Maria Bruins and Anthoni Bruins, with the proviso that their eldest son Hendrik Jan Bruins will receive the fiefdom 'De Gladbeek', situated in the Heerlijkheid Almelo, which testator on 10 Aug 1719 has been granted by the Heer van Rechteren as liege-lord, at which occasion Egbert Costers and Berend Gosens were present as liege-men. They declare that their son Hendrik Jan Bruins is owed ƒ1000.- from the inheritance of his uncle Jacob, on the condition that he pays ƒ333.- en 6 stuivers to the other children. They give their daughters Riekien Bruins and Rudolphina Maria Bruins their mother's 2 gold rings, one gold chain, the bjbel and the gold casque of their mother.6
Theodorus Bruins was in 1722 the town secretary.5
