Cornelius Van Hoorn1
M, b. 3 August 1642, d. 1692
Father | Jan Cornellison Van Hoorn d. b 16 Jun 1669 |
Mother | Hillegonde Joris |
Cornelius Van Hoorn was born on 3 August 1642.1 He married Anna Maria Jans on 5 October 1659.2,1 Cornelius Van Hoorn died in 1692.1
Family | Anna Maria Jans |
Children |
|
Cornelius Van Hoorn lived at New York City.1
Cornelius was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church in 1686.1 He made a will on 11 October 1689. He was Cornelius Jansen Van Hoorn, inhabitant of New York. Names eldest son John; wife Anna Maria Van Hoorn; under aged (unnamed) children. Wife to be executor. Witnesses: Thomas Burroughs and Albert Bosch.1,3
Marvin's book should probably be treated with caution, as it mentions that Jan's son Cornelius was married to a sister of Anneke Jans Bogardus, and has the disproven Webber connection.4
BC-Families has Jannetje Van Hoorn married (1) to Joseph Hopper, (2) to Reynier Van Sicklen, and (3) to Adriaen Guisbertsz Lane. This last one explains her name Lane in the will of her sister Hillegonda (But BC-Families does not have the will here). Uhlrich has a marriage with Joseph Hegeman (with no info), but this is not mentioned in BC-Families at all.
There are other problems with the family of Cornelis and Anna Maria; his will states that John was the eldest son, but Isaac is supp. older; there is no bp. in NYDC for Isaac, Cornelius J and Aagtje, while the other children are bp. there, and Cornelis' mother, Hillegond Joris is the sponsor for most of them.5,6,7,1 Name variation: Cornelis Janszen Van Horn.2,8
