He was Theophilus Elswaert, from Bristol, 22 y.o, sailor, parents dec'd; she Annetie Janss, from Amsterdam, 22 y.o, liv. at the Boomsloot.)^2,3,4 Annetje Jans died before 1706 as she is not mentioned in her husband's will.⁵

John Hendricks De Bruyn and Anthony De Mill, being requested by Annette Jansen, widow of Goesen Stevens Koning, to judge what her two children, gotten by said Goesen Stevens, namely, Johanes, aged about 4 years, and James, aged 3 years, should have for her father's portion. We having viewed the estate, we should judge that the two children each shall enjoy the sum of £15, in silver money or goods, and this is to maintain the said children, " and to aliment the same with victuals, clothes, and give them house room, and to cause them for to learn to read and write, and a trade, wherewith the children may in time maintain themselves by; and likewise an honest and civil outsett of clothes according to the condition of the estate." Auke came to New Netherland c. 1651 (with his wife and children); he took the oath of allegiance in 1687 as "Auke Jans Van Nuys, 36 yrs in country." Son Jan also took the oath in 1687 as "Jan Oake, 36 yrs in country."^7,8 Auke Jans made a will on 15 May 1694. It was proved in 1698. He was Ankie Janse Van Huys, of the Town of Flatbush in Kings County. He mentions his present wife Geetie Ankes; children (named Anke) of his present wife Geetie Ankes, by her first husband John Jacobse; children by his lawful wife Magdalena Anke, dec'd: Anatie, wife of Dirck Janse Waertman; the two children of Geetie Anke dec'd, and Joost Fransen, viz., Sara Joosten, and Magdalena Joosten; Janettie Anke, wife of Ryne Aertsen; Jan Anke (eldest son); Pontus Anke; Abigail, wife of Lippit Peterse; Jacobus Anke; and Famettie, wife of Jan Stevense. And to the children of his present wife Geetie, procured by her first husband Jan Jacobse: viz.. Lysbett Janse, wife of Dirck Janse Van Sutphen, and Eva Janse, wife of Jan Anke.³ Name variation: Auke Jans Van Nuyse.^5,1

     Konight has Christina, who married Jochem van Weert, as daughter of Abraham De Voe; but then she would not be Christina Jans.

pg. 127. Thursday 22 Dec 1664: Tomas Franzen declares that there are four children of his wife by two earlier marriages, viz. Hendrick, Derck, and Hermje Jans by one husband, and Jan Barentsen by another husband, and Susanna Tomas, born of the marriage between Tomas Franzen and the said Elsie Jans, dec'd. The said Hermje Jans had married Jurrien Jansz van Auweryck. She had received a marriage gift from her mother, and said Tomas would give her 200 guilders, and each of the other children 400 guilders.

De Nys File has a marriage with Hendrick the Boor (de Boer?). As Teunis dies in 1662, and Femmetje remarried in 1663, that marriage cannot have been between the first and second marriages. Bergen Families (De Nyse File) has her as widow of Hendrick the Boor, but that is crossed out.
