  • Gerrit Swam was likely the father of Anna Swam, because Anna Swam lives in Germany, as do Gerrit Swam's other children, but she could also be the daughter of yet another brother.
     Gerrit Swam was from in Almelo at his marriage.1 He married Judith ter Brugge, daughter of Gerhard ter Brugge and Helena Holtberends,3,1 (banns (NH) 24 Sep 1719, Almelo)1 They went on 8 Oct 1719 with certificate to Oldenzaal.1 He was mentioned in the will of Hendrik Swam on 29 Dec 1736.4

Isaak van Haelen and his wife Helena ter Bruggen, and also Warner Hobes as representative for her mother Johanna Rottink, widow of Jan ter Bruggen (proxy executed on 1 Jun 1735 in Amsterdam), and further Warner Hobes and Jan Bolk as guardian over Gerrit ter Bruggen conveyed to Gerrit Swam, and his wife Judith ter Bruggen, and Abraham Hagedoorn and his wife Margreta ter Bruggen, their house and yard, between the house of Arent van Denekamp and that of Jan Scherphof.5

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 20 May 1737:
Gerrit Swam, and his wife Judith ter Brugge, and also Abraham Hagedoorn and his wife Margreta ter Bruggen conveyed to Albertus Bastiaan, and his wife Anna Christina Lubelei, their house and yard, in which Jan Boom is living, with the land next to it, between the house of Jan Scherphof and that of Arent van Denekamp.6

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 20 Jan 1741:
Geertruit ter Bruggen, widow of Jan Vikkers, with her guardian Dr. Hein conveyed to Jan Bakker, and his wife Maria Leppink, Gerrit Swam and his wife Judith ter Brugge and Cornelis Trovest and his wife Henrica Luixen and heirs, her house and yard with the reardwellings, in which Abraham Hagedoorn is now living.7

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 1 May 1741:
Hermanus Swam, and his wife Maria Wensels conveyed to Otto Swam, and his wife Henrietta Swaafken, Gerrit Swam and his wife Judith ter Bruggen, and Johanna Swam, their furnishings, and their half house and yard, with the land around it, and the yarnshed, between the half house of Gerrit Swam and the house of Jannes Koster.8
