Botje Attema was born on 6 December 1854 in Wymbritseradeel, Friesland, The Netherlands.2,3 She married William R. Sybesma on 15 May 1880 in Wymbritseradeel, Friesland.4,2 Bertha S. Sybesma died in 1929.5 She was buried in Ridgewood.5

Her parents were Siek Jans Attema and Mari Bottes Wiersma.3 Will Sybema and Boltje Sybema immigrated on the Maasdam, from Rotterdam, arriving in New York on 10 May 1892, with 7 children: Siek (10), Aukje (8), Marie (7), Trietje (5), Bertje (2), Witske (1) and Eeltje (9 mo). They were going to Paterson, NJ.6 She and William R. Sybesma had nine children born in Wymbritseradeel, Friesland, The Netherlands: Aukje (1880 #A265, died 1880 #203)), Siek (1881 #A301), Aukje (1883 #A 364), Marie (1885 #A 18), Trijntje (1886 #A 287), Reitze (1888 #A 31, died 1888 #A 83), Reitze (1889 #A 93), Wytske (1890 #A 376) and Eelkje (1892 #A 37.)7
