Johannes Ruink was born in 1719.3 He died on 20 Dec 1804 in Almelo. The gravestone has the date as 21 Dec 1801.4,1

Johannes Ruink made a will on 20 Dec 1803. The will was presented for probate on 21 Dec 1804. The Rev. G. B. Stule as neighbor, Rev. O. H. Zwam, Gerrit Hagedoorn Lzn, and Bernardus Mollink as friends, in absence of the deceased's relatives, present Johannes Ruink's will for probate.

The will mentioned 3 cousins in Delden. These could be Anna Theodora (bap. 9 Nov 1727), Maria (bap. Mar 1724), en Jacomina (bap. 2 Dec 1725), daughters of Jan van Someren and Geertruijt Cuypers.6

He rescinds any previous wills. He leaves the following bequests:
1. ƒ1000.-- to the Reformed Parish.
2. ƒ600.-- to his cousins in Delden, named Van Someren.
3. To Abraham Reefman and his wife ƒ600.--, with the rent from a used by testator himself, as well as the apothecary store, the tools belonging to it, the medicinal books, and his best coat.
4. To Andries Zegers and his wife, living in Ootmarsum ƒ500.-- and his best blue clothes.
5. To Jan Troost and his wife ƒ500.--.
6. To the maid Geertruid Kamphuis ƒ350.--, as well as double mourning for the testator, and the bed she sleeps in.
7. To Samuel Reefman and his wife ƒ100.--
8. To Mannes Bentink and his wife ƒ100.--.
9. To G. J. Frielink ƒ50.--.
10. To Hendrik Bentink his blue camlet coat.
These amounts and goods have to be paid within a year after testator's death.
Testator names as sole heir the Reformed Church under the following conditions:
1. The estate has to be adnminstered by 3 people appointed by him, namely Gerrit Hagedoorn Lzn, Abraham Engbers and Hermannus ten Bruggencate Gerritszn. The three administrators will receive together 5% of the yearly revenue.
2. Never may more than 1/3 part of the estate be sold.
3. 2/3 part of the estate shall never be sold, and shall stay in a fund, the revenues of which shall be used for maintenance of the Church, as well as a bonus for the temporary 2nd minister, so his wage will be equal to that of the 1st minister of this Parish. If something is left of the revenue, that will serve to help the poor of this Parish.
4. Within 2 years of testator's death, the administrators are obliged, together with the church committee and the church board, to establish a grave in the Reformed Church, with an edifying memorial of blue stone with an appropriate inschription.
5. The administrators are required to yearly show their administration to the church committee.
6. If the administration would come under the supervision of Huize Almelo, the estate will go to the Reformed Parish, and the 2nd minister will also not get an extrapayment.
He names as executor Gerrit Hagedoorn Lzn and Bernardus Mollink. They also will have to attend to the funeral. They will receive ƒ100.-- for their efforts. Testator declares that, in the case he leaves letters in his own handwriting, they shall be considered as wills.
There are several separately dated bequests:
2 Mei 1803: To Everwijn Wanschers ƒ200.-- to be paid after testator's death, if he does not get back the sextonship during testator's lifetime.
7 Juli 1803: Dr. Gladbeek will receive his silver Cateda to drain water after testator's death.
1 Dec 1804: Jan Troost and his wife will receive an extra ƒ200.--
14 Dec 1804: Because 2 of the 3 cousins of testator, named van Someren, living in Delden have died, and he had bequeathed them ƒ600.--, he changes this amount to ƒ200.--, and the other ƒ400.-- he leaves to Andries Zeegers and his wife, living in Ootmarsum.
On 24 Feb 1803 has testator by means of a sealed envelope made his wish known to Gerrit Hagedoorn Lzn and Jacob Hendrik Boom, council members of Stad Almelo, that after his death everything shall be done according to his will, as is right and usual, and that was approved by aforementioned council members.1
