     Gerrit Hagedoorn was born in Almelo.2,3 He was baptized (NH) on 29 Nov 1741 in Almelo.1 He married Eva Hagedoorn, daughter of Arent Hagedoorn and Grietje Jansen,2,3,5 (banns (NH) 7 May 1767, Almelo.)2 He died on 23 Mar 1822 at Groote Straat, house #261 in Stad Almelo. Mannes van het Hag and Barend Vrielink were the witnesses.3

He was a merchant.6 He was mentioned in the will of Lucas Hagedoorn and Anna Knoef on 9 May 1767.7 He and Jurrien Hagedoorn were appointed on 15 May 1784 in Huisgericht, Almelo, guardian over Frans Harmen Knoef because of a disreputable life style.8
Gerrit Hagedoorn and Eva Hagedoorn with her guardian Secr. D. J. Lamberts made a will on 31 Jan 1793. They wish a honest and proper funneral. The survivor will have the use of the whole estate, without having to distribute to the children any of the property. If the survivor wishes to remarry, then the children, if they are of age or are married, will get their parental inheritance. The 5 children, namely Anna Hagedoorn, Grietje Hagedoorn, Lucas Hagedoorn, Aleida Hagedoorn and Johanna Hagedoorn are the sole heirs.9 He and Gerrit Schimmelpenninck sign the marriage certificates as representatives of the municipality of Almelo in 1811.10 He presented Johannes Ruink's will for probate on 21 Dec 1804.4

Gerrit Hagedoorn Arentzoon, and his wife Geertruijd Pruijmers conveyed to Gerrit Hagedoorn Lzn, and his wife and heirs, a house of two dwellings, named Eschhuijs, with the land, situated in the Esch in the Heerlijkheid Almelo.11

Landgericht, Almelo, 9 Sep 1782:
Gerrit Hagedoorn, and his wife Geertruijd Pruijmers conveyed to Gerrit Hagedoorn, and his Geertruijd Pruijmers and heirs, a number of parcels meadow and land in the Heerlijkheid.12
