Elizabeth van Berchum married Jan Fredrik Nilant, son of ? Nilant,1 (banns (NH) 6 Apr 1721, Almelo)1 They went on 10 May 1721 with certificate to Borne.1 She died bet 16 Aug 1757 - 3 Sep 1757, because she makes a will on 16 Aug, and it is probated in 3 Sep.2

Elizabeth van Berchum with her guardian Secr. Hein made a will on 16 Aug 1757. She names her niece Johanna Frederica Nilant as sole heir. She gives to her sister-in-law Juffrouw Nilant in Deventer her best coat and skirt, a half dozen of her best shirts, handkerchiefs, and her new lace cap, and also ƒ200.- car. guilder. To her niece Rokkelius in Deventer also ƒ200.- car. guilder and some clothes and linen goods. To both her nephews Nilant, the sons of her brother-in-law Richter Nilant in Borne all her late husband's linen and woollen clothes, and some of his zilver, such as rings, watch and medals. To her nephew Gerrit Jan van Haerst, if alive, an amount of 100 Daelers, to the still living children of Pieter van Haarst each a sum of ƒ100.- car. guilder. The youngest child Petronella van Haarst, will get the silver teapot and the tea container, as a personal memory. Above mentioned gifts of ƒ100.- to each of the children of Pieter van Haarst are interest bearing, and the interest shall be used by their mother, until the children have reached the age of 25. If a child dies before reaching majority, the gift will go first to the mother, and after the mother's death to each of the children. She gives to the Church of Almelo a sum of ƒ500.- car. guilder, and her best tablecloth and a half dozen napkins for the Communion Meal. She gives the NH Parish of Almelo and the Cloister of Almelo each 100 daelers. Lastly testatrix gives her niece, who lives with her, if she stays with her until her death, a good set of mourning clothes, her daily clothes, and a sum of ƒ50.- to pay for the costs of administering her will.2 Elizabeth van Berchum's estate was probated on 3 Sep 1757. Johanna Frederica Nilant and her brother Rentmeester Nilant present a closed and sealed envelop, containing the will of their aunt, the widow Nilant. They also represent their absent brother, their absent aunt Nilant, and cousin Rokkelius in Deventer.2
