M, b. 1795, d. November 1890
Father | Jan Van Wetering1 b. 1761, d. 24 Mar 1827 |

Frederick Petrus Van Wetering was born in 1795 at Dordrecht, The Netherlands.1 He was baptized on 29 June 1795 at Dordrecht.1 He married Johanna Van Dam on 21 April 1819 at Utrecht, The Netherlands.1 Frederick Petrus Van Wetering died in November 1890 at Hackensack, NJ.2 He was buried in NY Cemetery (Maple Grove) in Hackensack.2

Frederik Pieter Van Wetering and Johanna Van Dam immigrated in 1853 on the "Arnold Boninger" with John Van Wetering and Einske Stoffels (33 and 34), and their children John and Einske. Indexed as Van Weterlich (and hard to read).3 The 1860 census lists F.P. VanWetering and Johanna at #10 at New Barbadoes Township, Bergen County, NJ, with a 20 yr old F.P Van Wetering, who was also born in Dordrecht, The Netherlands. Both the men are fishermen.4 The 1870 census listed F.P. VanWetering in Peter and Dora Huhm's household at New Barbadoes Twp, Bergen County, NJ. He was making coffee essence.5
Bergen Index, 14 December 1886, pg. 1, col. 2
An article appeared on 28 August 1890 in the Hackensack Republican (pg. 3.)7
Anna's obituary has their date of immigration as c 1820, but this seems unlikely, as several of the children were born after that in the Netherlands. In 1837 they are still in Dordrecht, as they are present at the marriage of one of their children (Johannes Arnoldus Fredericus van Wetering, Dordrecht Marriages 4 Oct 1837 (#164). Johannes was 18, so could be the son John in the census. Four children of JAF and Einske Stoffels (different first name at each birth) were born between 1837 and 1845 in the Netherlands.8
It is unclear what the relationship is between Joseph Van Wetering and F.P. VanWetering. Frederick had at least two more siblings, who marry in Zwijndrecht. Joseph is not a son of John Van Wetering, he was not on John's registration card in Dordrecht, and he does not immigrated with John in 1853; but he lives next to Frederick in the 1870 census.
Bergen Index, 14 December 1886, pg. 1, col. 2
The grandfather of F.P Van Wetering is 92 years of age. Much property in Holland belongs to him, but is not owned by him yet, as there is a law suit about it.6

He is a fisherman, aged 41, his wife is also 41. However, Ennis, John, Boughty and Henrietta do not match.7 The 1870 census lists John Van Wetering and Einske at New Barbadoes Twp, Bergen County, NJ, with three children: John (19, b.

Under the heading "Not the first time" a story appeared of Mrs. Ella Van Wetering, being arrested for disorderly conduct. She apparently tried to hit her husband with an axe, in a drunken rage.
Unfortunately it does not give her husband's name, so we cannot be sure it is Ellen, and they would have had more than 2 or 3 children, as the article states, so we cannot be totally sure.11 Bergen Index, 25 March 1890, pg. 1, col. 3

She wreaked havoc in the store of Mr. Zinn, the grocer, broke a window with her head, and threw a stone at Mr. Zinn, that broke one of his ribs.
