Balts Hinrich Meyer zu Bakum was born c 1710. (he was 44 yr in 1754.)4 He (1) married Charlotte Clara Meyer zu Dielingdorf on 9 Nov 1729.5,6,3 He (2) married Helena Elisabeth Potthoff on 21 Jul 1739.3,1,2,5 He (3) married Catharina Margaretha Dallmeyer on 21 Jun 1757.5,3 He died on 20 Jun 1777 in Melle (Bakum.)5,3
Other information:
In 1729 Balts paid 550 thaler for lifetime succession; in 1739 he paid 51 thaler at the death of his 1st wife, and 102 thaler for a 22-yr contract. In 1753 he paid 30 thaler at the death of his 2nd wife, Helena.7
In 1753 Balts Hinrich Meyer zu Bakum paid 30 thaler at the death of his 2nd wife Helena; in 1757 20 thaler for his 3rd marriage to Catharina Margaretha Dallmeyer.8
Op 14 Oct 1754 Balts Hinrich Meyer zu Bakum sends a letter to the landlord. He says that after the death of his first wife, he was permitted to marry again, they were married 22 yr, and he had paid 102 thaler for the succession. Now his 2nd wife died just after childbirth, and he is left with 7 minor children, the youngest still breastfed, and the eldest just 14 yrs old. He is not able to run the farm without help. And he pleads for the continuation of his contract for 7 years, and that he gets permission to marry again.4
Balts Hinrich's presence on the farm is proved by the inscription above the barn door.3
