     George C. Bruggencate was born on 25 Dec 1853 in Oppenheim, New York.1,5 George C. and Jerome were twins.1,2 He married Mary Elizabeth Snell, daughter of Peter A. Snell and Elizabeth Burkdorf, on 1 Jan 1876 in St. Johnsville, New York.6 He died on 26 Jun 1945 in San Bernardino, California.

George C. Bruggencate was in 1880 a farmer (1880), smelter (1898).7,8 He and Carrie Bruggencate lived in 1898 at 682 Sims in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1897 Abbie (dom), Carrie (teach), and George (mach) were living together, renting at Gladstone; Sadie was a domestic at 252 Grove.8,9 He lived in 1909 at 842 Edmund in St. Paul, Minnesota.10 He worked bt 1909 - 1912 as a machinist at Henry Orme's Sons in St. Paul, Minnesota.11,10,12 He lived in 1912 at 895 Fuller in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a renter.11
     In 1915 he is listed in the St. Paul City Directory as having moved to "Hansen, Idaho;" this was his daughter Jessie. By 1938 he was living with his daughter Abie and her husband in San Bernardino County, CA. On 9 Apr 1938 an article appeared in the San Bernardino Sun. He had been hit by a car about three weeks ago, and turned out to have a hip fracture.13,14
