Rudolph Ditmar Mulder was born in 1725 in Soest.1 He married Geertrui ten Bruggenkate, daughter of Jan ten Bruggencate and Gesijna Holtman, (banns 13 Aug 1751, Amsterdam. His witness was Jan Gork; hers her aunt Maria Schuilt).1

He lived at the time of his marriage in the Slijkstraat in Amsterdam.1 Rudolph travelled on 6 Nov 1744 on the ''Eendracht'' to Batavia as soldier in service of the VOC. He embarks from Texel under Master Nanning Broeder.2 Rudolph travelled in 1751 on the ''Huis te Rensburg'' to Texel from Batavia.3,2 Rudolph travelled on 10 Jun 1752 on the ''Gouverneur-generaal'' to Batavia from Goeree. Rudolph's wife Geertrui ten Bruggenkate is listed as the beneficiary of his salary.2 Rudolph became a free citizen of Cape Good Hope on 31 Aug 1756.2
