     Gerrit Bruggencate was born on 21 Feb 1904 in The Netherlands.1 He married Elma Elizabeth Broughton on 24 Aug 1927 in the house of the bride's parents, southeast of Coronation.3 He died on 4 Nov 1966 in Burnaby, British Columbia, (Burnaby General Hospital). E. E. Bruggencate registered the death.4,5 He was cremated on 8 Nov 1966 in the Garden Chapel Crematory in Burnaby1, and was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Burnaby.1

He emigrated with Herman Bruggencate and Marie Elizabeth Oueil in 1912 to Enschede to Canada.6 He and Herman Bruggencate were naturalized on 26 Feb 1920.7 He worked in 1966 as a diesel mechanic for Finning Tractor & Equipment Co in Burnaby.6 He and Elma Elizabeth Broughton moved in 1934 to Cold Lake District, and in 1954 to Burnaby, British Columbia.8,6
