Testator names as sole heir his 2 adopted children, namely Swaantje Swam and Johanna Swam, his daughter from his 1st marriage Hendrica Swam, iand his 3 children from his 2nd marriage, namely Johanna Swam, Otto Hendrik Swam, and Hendrina Aleida Swam. He leaves in advance to his daughter Hendrica Swam, wife of Christiaan de Brei, ƒ400.-. Testators wish that, if their son Otto Hendrik Swam at their death did not finish his studies yet, the costs will be paid from the full estate. Stadsgericht, Almelo, 3 Sep 1737:
Berend Holtman, and his wife Venneken Bolk conveyed to Gerhardus Swam, and his wife Hermiena Holtman and heirs, their half house and yard, next to teh half house of the mason Travest, in which the sellers are living. This sale includes the tradegoods that are present in the house. The buyer pays partially in money, and for the rest he takes over the seller's debts, and he also promises to support and house the sellers.13

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 30 Jan 1752:
Everwijn Wanders, and his wife Janneke ten Kate, and also Jacob Bavink and Baerent Bavink, the first as representative of Venneken ten Cate, and tha last as representative of Siemon van Hoorn and his wife Maria ten Cate, conveyed to Gerhardus Swam, and Albert Steenbergen and their resp. wives, their parental house and yard, between the house of Thomas Kosters and that of the Count of Rechteren.14

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 10 May 1752:
Gerhardus Swam, and his wife Diena Meppers took out a mortgage with Gerrit Coster Egbertszoon, and his wife Judith Koster and heirs, with as collateral their half house and yard, between the house of the Count of Rechteren, in which Abraham Joseph is living, and the half house of Albert Steenbergen. The mortgage was paid off on 17 Apr 1769.15
