  • Is there possibly a relationship between Harmina ter Horst and Cornelis Troost? Harmina ter Horst names as niece Fenneke, the daughter of a Cornelis Troost. Cornelis Troost is however her stepson (and she names his brother Barend as such). She also names a brother Klaas, but it is not clear if this is a brother of Fenneke, or of Cornelis. Cornelis Troost has a son Klaas, but no daughter Fenneke, nor has Cornelis Troost a brother Klaas.4,5
     Harmina ter Horst was born in 1727 in Rijssen.1,2 She married Claas Troost, son of Cornelis Trovest and Hendrijna Lucas,2,1 (banns (NH) 9 Jun 1761, Almelo)1 They went on 17 Jul 1761 with certificate to Rijssen.1 She died on 16 Apr 1810 (in the house of the children of Johan Loreij, next to Dr. van Glabbeek) in Stad Almelo. G. H. ter Horst was the witness2,4 No children survived her.2

Harmina ter Horst with her guardian Dr. E. Dull made a will on 21 Jan 1804. She made her will in Johan Loreij's house. She was widow of Klaas Troost. She names as sole heir her brothers Jan ter Horst and Derk ter Horst. She leaves ƒ400.- to her daughter-in-law Gesina Waanders, widow of Gerrit Jan Troost, ƒ50.- to her niece Fenneke Troost, daughter of Cornelis Troost, and ƒ400.- to his brother Klaas Troost, ƒ50.- to each of the 2 children of her stepson Barend Troost. She names J. Lorrein as administrator of the inheritance of these last 4 heirs. She leaves her granddaughter Fenna Catharina Lorrein ƒ200.- and a third of her clothes and gold and silver, an to her grandson Fredericus Lorrein ƒ300.-. She leaves ƒ100.- to the NH Parish of Almelo.4 Harmina ter Horst's estate was probated on 21 Apr 1810.4
