Judith Schimmelpenning was born c 1693 in Almelo.2,1 She married (NH) Gerrit ten Kathe, son of Harmen ten Cate and Catharina Gerdes, on 6 Apr 1714 in Wierden5,1 (banns (NH) 18 Mar 1714, Almelo.)1 She died on 19 Apr 1774 in Almelo.2,4

Gerrit ten Cate and Judith Schimmelpennink with her guardian Secr. Hein made a will on 17 Jun 1738. They name each other as heir, with the special condition that Erve Bekkink, which is the property of Huize and Heerlijkheid Rhenen, may be used by the survivor. They name as sole heir their 5 still living children, namely Catharina ten Cate, Jan ten Cate, Henrik ten Cate, Harmen ten Cate Gzn and Gabriel ten Cate and the children, that still may be born from this marriage. They wish that their eldest son Jan ten Cate shall manage Erve Bekkink after their death.3
Gerrit ten Cate Hermenszn and Judith Schimmelpennink with her guardian Jan Fredrik Hein made a will on 12 Mar 1759. They name each other as heir. After their deaths they name as sole heir their 4 children, namely Catharina ten Cate, Jan ten Cate, Harmen ten Cate and Gabriel ten Cate. Their 5th child Henrik ten Cate shall for special and important reasons only get the use of his legal portion, and after his death this portion will go to his children. They give their son Jan ten Cate ƒ500.- in advance.4 Gerrit ten Cate Hermenszn's estate was probated on 25 May 1774. Catharina ten Cate with her guardian Secr. E. Dull, Jan ten Cate, Harmen ten Cate Gzn, Gabriel ten Cate and Henrik ten Cate, children and heirs of the late Gerrit ten Cate Hermenszn and Judith Schimmelpenning, present for probate the will of forementioned Gerrit ten Cate Hermenszn and Judith Schimmelpenning.4
