     Maria Hondebrink was born in Ambt Almelo.2,3 She was baptized (NH) on 17 Jun 1759 in Almelo.1 She married (NH) Jan Hendrik Selhorst, son of Jan Selhorst and Aaltjen Schuitemaker, on 11 Mar 1790 in Almelo2,6,3 (banns (NH) 13 Feb 1790, Almelo.)2 She died on 27 Jan 1831 at Oude Einde (wijk 3), house #61 in Stad Almelo. Hendrik Jan Zwiersen and Gradus Koop were the witnesses.3

Maria Hondebrink made a will on 23 Apr 1818. She named her husband Jan Hendrik Selhorst, her sons Jan Frederik and Jan Hendrik and her daughters Barendina and Aaltje, and also the children from her husband's first marriage, namely Jenneke Selhorst and Aleida Selhorst and their respective spouses, and the children of her husband's deceased daughter Janna and her husband Lambert ten Bruggencate, namely Hendrik Jan ten Bruggencate and Jan Hendrik ten Bruggencate.7
Maria Hondebrink made a will on 15 Feb 1827. She was the widow of the late Jan Hendrik Selhorst. She rescinds her previous wills. She gives in advance to her grandchildren Jan Hendrik, Benjamin, Melius and Barend, Benjamin, Melius and Barend Selhorst, children of her deceased son Jan Frederik Selhorst together ƒ500.-, and that same sum to her children Jan Hendrik Selhorst and Aaltje Selhorst, plus the same amount as the children of her husband from his first marriage have received at their marriage. Her daughter Aaltje Selhorst will receive half of the house, in which testatrix is living, and that was the joint property of her and her late husband, located next to the house of Arend Mokkelencate, for which she will have to pay the estate ƒ550.-. Aaltje will also receive her clothes. The children of her late son Jan Frederik Selhorst will receive the other half of the aforementioned house, in which they and their mother are now living, located between the first-mentioned home and the water, as well as the tools, kettles, etc, that belong to the dye-works, for which they have to pay ƒ450.- into the estate. The rest of the estate will be divided into 6 equal parts between the four children of Jan Frederik Selhorst, Jan Hendrik Selhorst, Aaltje Selhorst, Jenneke Selhorst, wife of Jannes ten Bruggencate, Aleida Selhorst, wife of Gerrit Mokkelencate, and Jan Hendrik ten Bruggencate and Hendrik Jan ten Bruggencate, children of the late Lambert ten Bruggencate and his wife Janna Selhorst.8

Huisgericht, Almelo, 8 Aug 1796:
The widow Zelhorst and Jan Zelhorst accused Hendrika Bolk of theft. She worked for them, and stole 6 napkins and a handkerchief, and also coffeebeans from the store. She did it from poverty, because otherwise she could not pay for lodging. Sentenced to 2 yrs in jail.5
