     Godschalk Salomonson was born in 1796 in Almelo.1,3,2 He married Francijntje Hartog on 8 Jun 1818 in Zaltbommel.1 He died on 23 Jul 1867 in Stad Almelo. Meijer Jacob Meijers and Hartog David Gans were the witnesses.4

He was a merchant3 In the marge of the birth certificate of Maurits: By Royal Decree of 24 Apr 1860 Godfried Salomonson received permission to add Wertheim to his name, and to use the surname Wertheim Salomonson. The transcription seems to state that thispermission was granted to Godfried, but it was really granted to Maurits, after his son Godfried Jacob was born. His wife's maiden name is Wertheim.5
