Marbletown, NY, widow lady), four children, all b. Hackensack: Emily (7), Ada (4), Walter (2), and Maria (2mo); and Catherine Mackerell (30, b. Bergen County). Living the same house, but a different family is Peter J. Bogert (72, b. Old Hackensack, sexton) with John Devoe (46, b. New Bridge, NJ, shoestore) and Sarah A. Devoe (41, b. Hackensack, mistress.)11 Stephen G Hopper was a veteran of the Civil War serving in Company A, 22nd Reg't NJ Volunteers Infantry at Hackensack, NJ.1,2,7 The 1880 census lists Stephen G Hopper and Catherine, with four children, all b.
