Thomas Dewey (c1608-1648)

Thomas Dewey, my son-in-law’s 9th great-grandfather died on 27 Apr 1648. He came to Dorchester, MA between 1630 and 1633, most likely from the West Country in England,⁽¹⁾ and moved before 1639 to Connecticut, where he was one of the founders of Windsor.⁽²⁾

He married his wife Francis there in 1639 (as her second husband), and they have five children. The eldest, Thomas, died co-incidentally on 27 Apr 1690 in Westfield, MA, where he had moved after his marriage in Dorchester. Thomas and his youngest brother Jedediah moved back to Massachusetts; the rest of the siblings stay in Connecticut.
