Thomas Dewey (c1608-1648)
Thomas Dewey, my son-in-law’s 9th great-grandfather died on 27 Apr 1648. He came to Dorchester, MA between 1630 and 1633, most likely from the West Country in England,(1) and moved before 1639 to Connecticut, where he was one of the founders of Windsor.(2)
He married his wife Francis there in 1639 (as her second husband), and they have five children. The eldest, Thomas, died co-incidentally on 27 Apr 1690 in Westfield, MA, where he had moved after his marriage in Dorchester. Thomas and his youngest brother Jedediah moved back to Massachusetts; the rest of the siblings stay in Connecticut.
More can be found in the regular webpages; it was a long day today.
