Joseph B. Belay was born in 1909 in Ohio.8,9 According to the 1930 census he was born in New York.9 Joseph B. Belay married Irma in 1928.1,9 William J. Belay was from 1930 to 1935 a clerk (real estate) in New York. In 1937 he is a manager at 207 (115) Plaza Road N, in 1940 he is listed as a real estate manager.1,7,9,8 Joseph B. Belay was in 1939 a clerk at the Radburn Management Corp, and in 1941 a clerk and also chief of the Fair Lawn Fire Dept, and housing manager in East Paterson and Clifton Radburn Management Corp.10,11 Irma was born circa 1910 in Hungary.9,8 Irma Belay was modeling dresses.9 Joseph B. Belay appeared on the 1930 census as the head of household at 42-15 34th Ave, Queens County, New York, with his wife Irma. Enumerated with them was his sisters-in-law Catherine and Violet Teiger.9 Joseph and Irma had at least a daughter Mariden.8 Mariden was born in 1932 in New Jersey.8 Edward C. Haynes appeared on the 1930 census as the head of household at 82 Lexington Ave, Jersey City, New Jersey, with his wife Florence H., and their child Edward C..6 In 1931-37 William J. Belay is listed; in 1939 he is listed as William J. in the numerical directory, but in the alphabetical directory he is listed as Joseph B. Belay. In 1930 and from 1940 he is listed as Joseph B. Belay both in the numerical and the alphabetical directory. His wife is Irma M. in 1937, and Irma T. in 1941, and without a middle initial in the other directories.1,10,11 Edward and Florence lived in 1935 in 302-E26 Highstreet, Fair Lawn.5 Edward C. Haynes appeared on the 1940 census as the head of household at 302-G6 Highstreet, Fair Lawn, with his wife Florence H., and their child Edward C.. Edward was born in May 1928 in New Jersey.5
