Wilhelm Frederick Seidler was born on 22 Jun 1831 in Ziegenhain Festung.1,3,2,4 Wilhelm Frederick was baptized (Ev. Luth.) on 17 Jul 1831 at Ziegenhain Festung.2 He married Amalia Deizsler, daughter of Gabriel Deizsler and Eleanora Feszenmayer.1,5 He died on 27 Mar 1883 in Newark, New Jersey,1,6, and was buried on 29 Mar 1883 in the Fairmount Cemetery at Newark.7

Wilhelm Frederick Seidler was a stonecutter (1852), marblecutter (1870.)4 His last residence before emigration was in Ziegenhain. according to the passengerlist.4 Wilhelm immigrated on 3 Feb 1852 on the Admiral to New York City from Bremen.4 He was naturalized on 24 Oct 1859 in the Court of Common Pleas in New York City8 He filed his petition on 4 Oct 1853 in the Superior Court of New York.8 There was a news story in the Newark Daily Advertiser on 28 Mar 1883.

The death is also mentioned in Newark (NJ) Sunday Call, Apr 1 1883, pg. 8 in the death notices; and in the Paterson Daily Press, Mar 28, 1883, pg. 2 and the Paterson (NJ) Weekly Press, Mar 29, 1883, pg. 2. It was also picked up by the German papers (this one from the Deutsche Correspondent (Baltimore, MD), 31 Mar 1883. Apparently he was the fourth German to commit suicide within a week.9
