     John Chenoweth was born s 1682 in Cornwall.2 He married Mary Calvert.2 He died c May 1746 in Frederick County, Virginia.2

John Chenoweth was a blacksmith.2
     It is not clear whether their children were born before they came to Maryland or after. If before, they could have been born in Pennsylvania, or even New Jersey.2
John Chinoweth made a will on 11 Apr 1746. He gives his sons John Chinoweth and Richard Chinoweth 20 shilling Virginia currency each, his son Arthur Chinoweth 40 shilling, son William Chinoweth 5 shilling, son Thomas Chinoweth his wearing apparel, and to his grandson John Watson his smooth-bore gun. He wishes that the gift of land to his son Thomas Chinoweth and his son-in-law John Pettit will stand. The residue of the estate shall be split equally among his wife and his daughters Mary Watson, Hannah Carter and Ruth Pettit. Thomas Chinoweth and James Carter are to be executors.3
