Egbert Gast was born on 7 Feb 1876 in Stad Almelo.2 He married Klasina Meerstadt, daughter of Albertus Meerstadt and Clasina Wunderink, on 16 Aug 1905 at Zutphen.1,2 He died on 1 Nov 1963 in Briltil, Zuidhorn.2

Egbert Gast moved on 11 Jun 1896 to Lochem from Almelo, and on 5 Nov 1901 back to Almelo. Much later, on 25 Jun 1940, he moved to Het Bildt, in Friesland, where his son was living.3
