Gerrit Gast was born on 20 Jun 1874 in Stad Almelo.2,1 He married Trina Johanna ten Bruggencate, daughter of Barend ten Bruggencate and Jansje ten Bruggencate, on 24 May 1907 at Stad Almelo3,2 (banns 27 Apr 1907, Stad Almelo.)4 He died on 10 Mar 1945 in Eindhoven.2,1

Gerrit Gast and Derk Meerstadt, the brother of his sister-in-law owned a sigar manufacturing business. Later Gerrit continues the business on his own, but he declared bankcuptcy on 17 Jun 1928.

The business of the dissolved partnership is assigned to undersigned, Gerrit Gast, who continues the firm D.Meerstadt & Co. on his own.6,7
