     John was baptized (St. John the Baptist Parish) on 14 Jan 1620/21 at Glastonbury, England.1,2 He married Mary Jacob c 10 May 1649.1,2 He died on 16 Jan 1683 in Scituate, Massachusetts.1

Acc. to NEHGR-Otis Mary's father was Nicholas; acc. to Migrations, he was Richard Jacob, who immigrated in 1633 to Watertown.1,3
John Otis and Mary Jacob had eight children born in Hingham: Mary (bp. 14 Mar 1653), Elizabeth, John (b. 21 Nov 1657, d. 23 Sep 1727), a daughter (? Hannah, b. 1660), and Stephen (b. 1661), John (bap. 26 May 1664) and Stephen and Joseph (bap. 3 Jun 1666).4
     In 1661 he moved to Scituate, and he took the oath of fidelity there in 1662. In 1678 he went to Barnstable, where he left his son John, while he moved back to Scituate.1
John Otis made a will in 1683. It mentions his eldest daughter Mary, wife of John Gowin, his daughters Hannah and Elizabeth, and his sons John, Stephen, James, Job and Joseph.1
Is John Otis the grandfather of Deborah Otis? Deborah's father John is then John's son bapt. 1664 in Hingham.
