Mary was born s 1615 in England. She (1) married Thomas Horton.1,2 She (2) married Robert Ashley at Springfield, Massachusetts,3 (marr. contract on 7 Aug 1641 in Springfield). 45,3,2 She died on 19 Sep 1683 in Springfield.6,2

Other information:

The Widow Horton was in Oct 1640 involved in the sale of her husband's gun to Indians. She claimed however, that she had merely loaned it to him. In June 1655 Robert Ashley and his wife were issued an order of restraint, prohibiting them from selling liquor to the Indians without a license.7
She died without making a will. Her sons Jonathan Ashley and Joseph Ashley are granted power of administration to settle the estate.8
mjenks makes in my opinion an excellent case that this Mary and Mary Eddy (daughter of John Eddy and Amy Doggett, who also married a Thomas Horton) are not the same, and that there are two Thomas Horton's. The birth/baptismal date and first marriage date are way too close. Mary had only two children when she married Robert Ashley, while most sources give three or four.1

Name variants: Mary Horton (married name.) Widow Horton.7
