     Edward Stebbins was born on 14 Apr 1656 in Springfield, Massachusetts.1,2 He (1) married Sarah Graves, daughter of John Graves and Mary Smith, on 12 Apr 1679 at Springfield, Massachusetts.3,4 He (2) married Mary Colton on 18 Oct 1701 at Springfield, Massachusetts,5,2 (banns 3 Oct 1701.)6 He died on 31 Oct 1712.2

     Edward Stebbins and his brother-in-law Samuel Bliss were taken by Indians at Longmeadow, Massachusetts in the early spring of 1676. They escaped and provided the English with the location of the Indians, after which the English massacred about three hundred Indians.2
