     Ryck was from Arnhem at his marriage.2 He (1) married Judith Cornelis2 (banns 22 Dec 1638, Arnhem.)2 He (2) married Annetje Roelofs on 2 May 1659.3,4

Ryck Hendricksen and Annetje Roelofs had four children, all baptized in the New York Dutch Church in New Amsterdam. No other information about these children has been found.3
Ryck Hendricksen was a woodsawyer.4
     Ryck Hendricksen of Aarnhem was listed as having received small burgher rights in New Amsterdam on 6 June 1657.5

pg. 60-61. Wednesday, 8 Jan 1659
     Ryck Hendricksen declares before the Board, that as his wife has died, he has appointed as guardians for his children called Hendrick Rycken, 10 yrs, and Gosewijn Ryck, 9 yrs old, Cornelis Aarsen and Pieter Stoutenburgh, who by their commission are ordered to take an inventory of the estate and report ot the orphan masters.

As the wife of Ryck Hendriksen has died in 1658, leaving behind the widower and 2 small children, to wit a son Hendrick Rycken, in his tenth year, and a daughter Gosewijn Rycken, in her 9th year, and as Cornelis Aarsen and Pieter Stoutenburgh have been appointed administrators and guardians of the children, therefore thinking it necessary that an inventory of the estate of the deceased should be made, so that neither the children nor the widower be harmed in their rights and possessions, the orphanmasters herewith direct said guardians to take as soon as possible an inventory of the furniture and other property, real and personal, debts and credits of the deceased here in this country, and to deliver it to the orphanmasters, who will advise as to how they are to act.      Ryck Hendricksen appearing is asked, whether he has made an agreement with the guardians. He answers No, because they would not make any agreement, until he had spoken with the orphanmasters. He is ordered to make the contract.

     Ryck Hendricksen coming with Pieter Stoutenburgh and Cornelis Aarsen, guardians of the children left by Ryck's deceased wife, the guardians report that they have agreed with the widower, and that Ryck is to pay each child on coming of age 50fl. They are directed to have the agreement reduced to writing and gave it to the secretary.

     The agreement between Ryck Hendricksen and the guardians for the settlement upon the children of their maternal inheritance was shown.6

Court Records: On 25 Jan 1661 Ryck Hendricksen petitioned for land on Staten Island, together with a group of French Hugenots, who had come via the Netherlands from the Palatinate. On 4 Oct 1662 he sold his house and lot on the Prince Graft in New Amsterdam to Dirck Claesen, and probably moved with his family to Staten Island shortly thereafter.4
