     Morris Edelman was born in 1873 in Russia.3,4 He married Rose Goldman, daughter of Rubin Goldman and Jetta, on 28 Dec 1901 at Manhattan, New York.3,4 He died on 29 Jan 1912 in Manhattan, New York, (Mt. Sinai Hospital). He died from pulmonary tuberculosis and diabetes1, and was buried on 30 Jan 1912 in the Washington Cemetery (cem. 3, post 245, Indep. Orler Benev. Soc.) at Brooklyn.1,5

Morris Edelman was a tailor.3,1 Morris immigrated in 1892 according to some sources.1,6 His parents were Jacob Edelman and Ida Cohen.3,1 There is an immigration record in 1897 for a Morris Edelman, taylor, 24 yrs old, coming from Russia, arriving at the port of Quebec on 30 Sep, he is going to New York; but there are naturalisation records for a Moris Edelman in 1896, he was b. 16 Jul 1874, naturalised 19 May 1896, immigrated 2 Mar 1890. He is also a taylor, but he is German.
     At Louis' birth they had had 5 previous children, but only three (inclusive of Louis) living.7
     After Morris died, their children Jacob, Ida and Louis all spent some time in the New York Hebrew Orphan Asylum.8

Name variants: Morris Edman (at death of George, his name is Morris Edman, at marriage of Louis, his last name is not mentioned.)2,10 Morris Eidelman (in 1910 census.)4
