     Martin V. Blue was born in 1840 in Shelby County, Ohio.1,3 He (1) married Nancy Ann Netherton, daughter of William Netherton and Elizabeth Chenoweth, on 28 Jun 1863 at Pulaski County, Indiana.1,4 He (2) married Rosetta Troyer on 10 Nov 1892 at Cass County, Indiana.5 He died on 5 Aug 1907 in Indiana6,7, and was buried in the National Cemetery (Section 1, Row 13-S-S, Plot 1329) at Marion.6

Other information:

During the Civil War he served in Comp. D, 46th Reg. of the Indiana Infantry8 Martin enlisted on 30 Sep 1861, and was discharged on 13 Jan 1863 in Memphis, Tennessee.
The company was organized at Memphis, Ind., and mustered in December 11, 1861. Martin was a private going in, and coming out. He was discharged with a surgeon's certificate of disability. His disabilities were chron. diarrhea, right inguinal hernia, rheumatism and heart disease. He had been sent to the hospital in Memphis, TN on 18 July 1862, and later he was in a hospital in Evansville, IN. He was described as 5 ft, 10 inches tall, dark complexion, grey eyes, and light hair.9,7,8
