     Hendrik Jan ten Bruggencate was born on 29 Apr 1875 in Wierden.2 He married Anna Gezina Scheele on 20 Nov 1901 in Enschede1,2 (banns 10 Nov 1901, Enschede, also in Stad Almelo).1 He died in 1934 in Edam, Saskatchewan,3, and was buried in the Edam Municipal Cemetery (block 77).3

Hendrik Jan ten Bruggencate was a traveling salesman, later bicycle dealer.4,5 He lived at the time of his marriage for less than 6 months in Enschede. He lived before that in Stad Almelo.1 He emigrated in 1906 from Enschede to Winnipeg, Canada.6 He was naturalized on 19 Aug 1909 in the District Court in Battleford.6
     He received a homestead patent. He settled in Section 34, southeast quadrant (SE 34 Tsp48 Rge20).7,8

     He and his wife Anna are listed in the 1921 census for Turtle River (North Battleford, SK) with Adolph,Annie and Hendrick (They are indexed as Bruggeneuter). See.

Name variants: Henry Bruggencate (in the census).11 Henry T. G. Bruggencall (in the census transcription).9 Hendrik Jan ten Bruggencate was the brother of Trina Johanna ten Bruggencate.12
