Alida Vermeer was born on 11 January 1892 in Amsterdam, Noord Holland, The Netherlands.2,3 She married Jan Hendrik Vermeer on 10 January 1912 in Amsterdam, Noord Holland.3 Alida Vermeer died on 5 March 1976 in Heritage Hall Nursing Home, New Shrewsbury, Monmouth County, New Jersey.2,3 She was buried on 8 March 1976 in North Bergen (Garden State Crematorium.)2

Her parents were Andries Leeman and Sophia van den Berg.3 Johan Vermeer and Alida Vermeer immigrated on the Nieuw Amsterdam, from Rotterdam, arriving in New York on 12 Jan 1914. Their last residence was Rotterdam. Their contact in Holland is his father P. Vermeer, Alexanderkade 7, Amsterdam. They were going to New York, their contact is the Holland America Line, 21-24 State Street, NY. Three other HAL employees are travelling with them.2,1
