Geeltje Stienstra was born on 24 July 1895 in Britswerd, Baarderadeel, Friesland, The Netherlands.1,2 She married Tunis de Young.3 Gertrude de Young died on 23 March 1975 in Hawthorne, Passaic County, New Jersey.1 She was buried on 26 March 1975 in Paterson (Cedar Lawn Cemetery.)1

She immigrated with Lolkje Stienstra on the Rotterdam, from Rotterdam, arriving in New York on 8 Sep 1908, with 7 children: Lutske (14, b. Oosterwierum), Geeltje (13), Jantje (11), Jeltje (10), Baukje (9), Trijntje (8) all born in Britswerd, and Jan (5, b. Leeuwarden). They are going to her husband Ch. Stienstra in Pleasantville, NY. Her contact in Holland is P. H. Zijlstra in Oosterwierum.4

Household consists of Charles, his wife Lucy and eight children : Gertrude (14), Jessie (11), Bertha (10), Catherine (9), John (6), Peter (8 mo) and Nellie (8 mo). Peter and Nellie are born in NY, the rest in Holland.5
