Cornelius P. Maas was born in 1868 in Texel, Noord Holland, The Netherlands.1,2 He married Jantje Cornelia Huisman on 28 August 1890 in Texel, Noord Holland.2

His parents were Pieter Maas and Willemina Borgman.2 Cornelius P. Maas and Jantje C. Maas immigrated on the Potsdam, from Rotterdam (Mar 20, 1909), arriving in New York on 31 Mar 1909, with seven children: Cornelis (17), Willemina Kl. (15), Klaartje W. (14), Jacob (10), Jannetje (9), Maria (8) and Johannes (1). They were going to his brother H. W. Verbaarschal, 17 Watson Street, Paterson. Last residence was Texel, contact his father Pieter Maas.1 According to the manifest, William was a brother of Cornelius, but he is at most a brother-in-law.
