Gese Stockelers1

F, #17356, ° s 1631, +. a 1677
  • Proven or possible relations:
  • Was Gese Stockelers possibly a sister of Hendrik ten Stokkelaar? The will of Claes van Raelte mentions his uncle Jan Roelofs. Gese is married to a Jan Roelofs, but he would have been over a hundred years old.
Gese Stockelers married ? Rolofs.1 She died a 1677, because she is mentioned in a courtcase.2

Court Records:

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 2 Apr 1677:
The heirs of Hendrick Godschalk and Fenneke Roelofs, Wilm Wildeman and his wife Fenneke Henrix, Gese Stockelers, Jan Roelofs, and the children of Adam Oostendorp are sued on 2 Apr 1677, because of a mortgage that their parents took out in 1633.2

The wording in the extract of this document is not logical. "Jan Roelofs, the wid. of Geese Stockelers with her guardian Jan Bruins." Jan Roelofs does not need a guardian; Gese could be the widow of someone, but of whom, maybe something was accidentally omitted.2
