Jacob Janssen, and his wife Elsjen took out a mortgage with Henrik Roelofs, for the Parish of Almelo, with as collateral their house and yard, between the house of Geerlig Warners and that of ex-burgemeester Lucas Bruins3
The house is sold in a public sale on 14 Dec 1716. The house was conveyed to the buyers Herman ten Cate Sr., Hermen ten Cate Jr, Egbert Kosters and Jannes Warners for the Mennonite Parish on 16 Sep 1717. A bill is presented on 10 Sep 1717 to the court, in which the disposition of the money is described. The total income was ƒ1005.- and 18 nickels. For the expenses see the bill. Payments were made to Jan Smelt, Dr. Liens and Dr. Th. Bruins.4,5
