Uriah H. Blue was born in 1791.1,2 He married Charity Chaney, daughter of Edward Chaney and Dorcas Chaney, on 9 Jan 1811 at Hillsboro, Highland County, Ohio.3,2 He died on 28 Feb 1857 in Monroe County, Iowa,4,2, and was buried in the Prather Cemetery at Melrose.4
He is listed in the following census:
1830 Fed. census (1 Jun): Household of Uriah H. Blue, Fairfield, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. The family consists of 1 male 30-40, 1 male under 5, 2 males 5-10, 1 female 20-30, and 1 female under 55,6
1840 Fed. census (1 Jun): Household of Uriah H. Blue, Madison Township, Montgomery County, Indiana. Family consists of 1 male and 1 female 40-50 (Uriah and Charity?), 1 male under 5 (?), 2 males 5-10 (William R. and John W.), 1 male 15-20 (Michael?), 1 male 20-30 (Uriah?), 1 female under 5 (?), 1 female 5-10 (?), 1 female 10-15 (?), 1 female 15-20 (?), 1 female 20-30 (?)7

This is according to the Blaw CD. However the family composition does not look at all like him. The 1 male 30-40 could be Uriah, the 1 male under 5 could be William Raper Blue, the 2 males 5-10 could be Michael and Alexander, the 1 female 20-30 is too young to be his wife Charity and to old to be his daughter Dorcas, and 1 female under 5 is unaccounted for. And where are Chaney, Uriah and James?

There are a number of problems with this as well. The 1 male and 1 female 40-50 can be Uriah and his wife, the 2 males 5-10 could be William Raper and John Wesley, the 1 male 15-20 could be Michael, and the 1 male 20-30 Uriah. That leaves 1 male under 5, all females unaccounted for. Daughter Dorcas is supposed to be in Shelby County, OH after 1835, so it cannot be her and her family. Son Chaney is already on his own in Shelby County, OH. James M. could be enumerated with his wife next door to Uriah (1 male 20-30, 1 female 15-20). John J. Blue (Uriah's brother) is enumerated on the same page.7
