     Richard Chenoweth was born bt 1738 - 1748 in Baltimore County, Maryland.2,1 He married Margaret 'Peggy' McCarthy in 1773.2,1,3 He died in 1802 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. There is a marker in Long Run Cemetery, KY, but he was buried at his home farm; that cemetery no longer exist.2,4
     Guthrie has a fascinating biography of Richard, and Hudson has an insightful article about slavery in early Kentucky.2,5
     Find-A-Grave has Peggy's birthplace as Baltimore County, MD, and burial in Jefferson County, KY in 1825; Chenoweth and Guthrie have it as Hampshire County, VA, now WV; and death in c. 1839 in Shelby County, KY.1,2,3
     The Chenoweth Spring House still stands, and has been designated a historic landmark.6
