While some sources have Abigail, widow of Robert Sharp, as Nicholas' 2nd wife, it simply makes no sense. Abigail Wright, widow of Robert Sharp married Thomas Clapp. Abigail's daughter Mary is named in Thomas' will. Nicholas' children with his 2nd wife are born 1667 and 1670; Abigail was born c. 1623 (from a deposition in 1701), so she would have been 44 by birth of Noah, and 47 at Abigail's birth. While this is not impossible, the date of marriage with Anna Whipple is much closer to the birthdates of the children, so it seems much more likely that Noah and Sarah are Anna's children. Torrey (p. 154) has his 2nd wife as Anna (Whipple) widow of John (Annable), marriage at 15 Apr 1667. Also, Nicholas' life was in Dorchester, while Thomas' and Abigail's was in Scituate. However, Torrey (3rd supplement, 2003) has Anna as Nicholas' 3rd wife, and an Abigail (no surname) as 2nd wife (Source: Dean C. Smith, The Ancestry of Eva Belle Kempton, Boston: NEHGS, 1995-2000). The following references refer to the will and inventory of Robert Sharp: NEHGR 31 (1877), pg 103 (has her remarried to Nicholas), NEHGR 10 (1856), pg 84 (no 2nd husband listed), and NEHGR 8 (1854), pg 276 (too early for remarriage.)
