Torrey gives [?Clapp] in brackets, for Ann's surname, but I have not been able to ascertain why. If she is the ? Clapp of 1611, daughter of Nicholas Clapp, her age is wrong on the passengerlist of the 'Truelove.' The listed references from NE Register and NYG&B Record do not contain any clue.4
Name variants: Richard Clapp (in the Clapp Genealogy, but that is in error.)5
William Clapp could be of Nicholas Clapp, Radigon Clapp and Barbara Clapp are designated granddaughters of William Clapp in the Clapp genealogy, but daughters of Nicholas Clapp in Mary & John, and in the webpage "Pane-Joyce Genealogy" Nicholas Clapp's son John in his will calls John Capen "cousin."3,2
