     Rowland Stebbins was born in England.1,3 Rowland was baptized on 5 Nov 1592 in the St. Mary's Church, at Bocking, England.2 He married Sarah Whiting on 30 Nov 1618 in the St. Mary's Church, at Bocking, England.2,1 He died on 14 Dec 1671 in Northampton, Massachusetts.1,4

Other information:
Rowland immigrated in Apr 1634 on the 'Francis' to Roxbury from Ipswich with his wife Sarah and their children Thomas, Sarah, Elizabeth and John3 They settled first at Roxbury, but moved circa 1639 to Springfield, where they were granted land in the second division of that town on 24 Dec 1640 5.2
Thomas Merrick, John Stebbins, William Warriner, Robert Ashley and Rowland Stebbins were among 29 men taking the oath of fidelity in Springfield on 6 Feb 1648.6
     Rowland and Martin may have been related to Edward Stebbins (see Migration), and his younger sister Thomas and William, but it is still unproven that Thomas Stebbins and William Stebbins are brothers. The baptisms of Rwland's children were in Bocking, those of William's children are in Black Notley; however, these places are only about 3 miles apart.7,8
Rowland Stebbins made a will on 1 Mar 1669/70. The inventory of his goods and chattels was taken 2 Jan 1671/72 amounted to £9-5-2, the inventory of his lands was taken on 11 Jan 1671/72 and amounted to £75-3-2.9
