Other information:
There may have been a fourth brother, but it is not known whether he came to New England or not. Leonards of the proper age would possibly be Solomon (in 1637 of Duxbury, and afterwards of Bridgewater), Rice (of Rehoboth in 1644) or John (of Springfield in 1639, 1643, and has multiple children there)1,2 There is also a Leonard family that settled in Bridgewater, MA, but no relation has been found, according to Deane. The Leonards of Springfield (family of Josiah Leonard, who was the first husband of Thomas Root's second wife) are also most likely not related to the Leonards of Taunton (family of James Leonard.)1
