     Joseph B. Agnew was born on 21 Dec 1788 in Bergen County, New Jersey.3,2,1 Joseph B. was baptized (DRC) on 22 Mar 1789 at Acquackanonck.3 He married Mariam McKee, daughter of James McKee and Sarah Guess, in 1812 at Butler County, Ohio.1,2 He died on 11 Jul 1870 in Whitewater Village, Ohio.2

He was a Shaker.2,4,5 Mariam divorced Joseph B. after he became rather fanatical in his religion.6

Joseph B. and his wife Mariam), 1 male and 5 females under 10 (prob. his children Joseph B., Susan, Lucinda J., Minerva, Marietta and Hannah Ann). Joseph, David Agnew and Brant Agnew live next door to each other.7
1830 Fed. census (1 Jun): Household of Joseph B. Agnew, Morgan Township, Butler County, Ohio. Household includes 1 male and 1 female 40-50, 1 male under 5, 9 males 5-10, 2 males 10-15, 1 male 20-30, 6 females 5-10, 14 females 10-20, 2 females 20-30, and 2 females 30-40. As this was the entire population of the Shaker household, it is difficult to say without further information, who these people might be. His wife Mariam was probably among the females 30-40, and son Joseph B. was under males 10-15.4
1850 Fed. census (1 Jun): Shaker Society, District 69, Crosby Township, Hamilton County, Ohio,. J. B. Agnew (62, b. NJ), Peggy Boggett (83, b. NJ), Hannah Boggett (42, b. Ohio) and Nancy McKee (38, b. Ohio) were listed among the members of the Society.5
