Joseph Washburn was born on 27 May 1776 in Kent, Connecticut.1,2,3 He married Pruda Corbett, daughter of Robert Corbett and Elizabeth Daniels. (NOTE: Maltby has a marriage date of 1799, birth place New Milford, Susquehannah County, PA 4.5,6 He died a 1850 According to Stocker, he died at over 84. He is in the 1850 census, but not in the 1860.3,2

Joseph Washburn and Pruda Corbett had in addition to Ira and Thirza, 4 more daughters: Betsey, killed accidentally, was the wife of Horace Thayer, of Gibson ; Eliza died young; Nancy was the wife of N. E. Kennedy, a merchant on Kennedy Hill, Gibson; Julia Ann, wife of S.S. Ingalls, Chicago, formerly a merchant in Burrows' Hollow.3
Joseph Washburn was a blacksmith, gunsmith.3

The organization of the book is rather confusing. Joseph Washburn is listed as unconnected on pg. 634 (The book has no page numbers, archive.org assigns scan numbers). Ebenezer Washburn (A2C5, pg. 187) is listed as descendant of John, but son Joseph has no marriage listed, and only one son, Samuel, b. 1784.7
