Samuel Widoff was born on 10 Aug 1883 in Kovno, Russia.2,3,4,5 He (1) married Ida Marionsky on 13 Jul 1908 at Manhattan, New York.6,4 He (2) married Rose Goldman, daughter of Rubin Goldman and Jetta, bt 1912 - 1916.7 He died on 29 Nov 1933 in Brooklyn (15 Belmont Ave). It is unclear, whether this is actually our Samuel. The lack of his wife's first name and the fact that a number of other Widoff's are buried in the same block (76) and Society (KOVNER BEN. & LITERARY CIRCLE) makes it probably unlikely1,8, and was buried in the Montefiore Cemetery at Springfield Gardens.8,1

Samuel Widoff was a painter in 1925, but a cashier in a russian bakery at death.5,1 His parents were Simon or Shimon and Emma or Esther Jackinsky.4,1
He was living at 33 S. Broad Street, Penns Grove, Salem County, when he registered for the WW1 draft.3 At that point he had filed papers, but was not naturalized yet. According to the 1925 census he was naturalized in 1924.3,5
When Rose withdraws Louis from the Orphan Asylum in 1918, she lives in Penns Grove, New Jersey, and signs as Rose Edelman Widoff; when Samuel in 1919 withdraws Bessie from the Asylum he also lives in Penns Grove, New Jersey.9,10 He and Rose Widoff lived in 1920 at 524 Kaighn Avenue in Camden, New Jersey.11
He filed his petition for naturalisation on 25 Jun 1924 in Court of Common Pleas, Brooklyn. He had filed his declaration of intent on 21 Sep 1917 in Camden, and had filed a petitiom in Camden on 15 May 1921, which was denied for lack of prosecution. He mentioned his wife Rose, and 3 children Rosalia, Bessie and Joseph, but the birthdates are a bit off.2
Samuel deserted the family at some point, and nobody knows what became of him.12
