  • Was Gerrit Janssen Bolk possibly the son of Jan Hendriksen Bolk? Gerrit's father died before 1718, Jan after 1705.
     Gerrit Janssen Bolk was from in Almelo at his marriage.1,2 He (1) married (NH) Jenneken Egberts, daughter of Egbert Waanders, on 29 Apr 1718 in Almelo1,2 (banns (NH) 27 Mar 1718, Almelo.)1 He (2) married (NH) Swenneke van het Niphuijs on 18 Oct 1747 in Almelo2,3 (banns (NH) 16 Sep 1747, Almelo.)2 He died c Dec 1748, because he is listed in the census, but his wife remarries in Jun 1749.3

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 16 Jan 1720:
Gerrit Janssen Bolk, and his wife Jenneken Egberts took out a mortgage with Willem Boom, and his wife Kunne Lucas, with as collateral their house, that they received in the distribution, between the house of Gerrit Berents Bolk and the alley.4

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 7 May 1740:
Gerrit Janssen Bolk and his wife Jenneken Egberts declare they still owe 90 gld to Kunne Lucas, the widow of Willem Boom and heirs, and they give their house as collateral, as described in teh original mortgage on 16 Jan 1720.5

Stadsgericht, Almelo, 5 Feb 1752:
The house and yard of the widow of Gerrit Janssen Bolk and her children was conveyed to Jan Mokkelencate and her heirs in a court ordered sale. The house was located near the churchyard, between the house of Baerent Gerritsen Bolk and the alley to the Hof van Gulik, and was sold because of tax arrears.6
